I thought I have encountered this a while ago and I remember going to the preferences menu to check or uncheck something. But I cant seem to remember how I did this before. Any help is greatly appreciated. Its driving me nuts. Hi Eric, thanks for helping.

I am using windows I looked in the properties and everything is allowed for the document, there does not seem to be any restrictions. I have attached the screenshot. As you can see on the right panel, everything is greyed out. I am most interested in the Objects section. I’ve had this issue for a while and just stumbled upon a solution by accident.

If so, click on the Comment icon. To use the Highlight Text tool, first click on the Commenting tools icon. Then at the top of the window, click the Highlight Text tool. Is your PDF a raster image? In that case it might have pixels that appear to be text but are not actually text, and cannot be selected.
